Here comes the (probably) SIMPLEST how-to guide I will ever write. If you are new to homemade beauty products this is the place to start. If you're not new to the concept of all natural beauty and body care and you have't made this yet, well, why haven't you, it's by far my favorite product. Luxurious Homemade Natural Body Scrub Recipe: -White (or raw) granulated sugar
-Coffee Grounds
-Olive Oil

What? Only three ingredients? Yes. Only three ingredients. That's all your skin needs.
The sugar acts as a natural abrasion and scrubbing tool. Gently but effectively, sugar scrubs out the dirt, body oils, bacteria, and othern nonsense that find their way into your pores. The abrasion also helps remove dead skin cells.
The coffee grounds act as an even gentler abrasion and scrubbing tool, helping with all of those things I just stated. Also, the coffee leaves a delicious and earthy scent on your skin and in your shower. Finally, caffiene can invigorate your skin cells sort of like it invigorates your brain! In this way it helps to reduce puffiness, swelling, and wrinkles. Check it out!
The last ingredient, and most important: olive oil. Oils are being more and more widely used as a skin cleanser. Maybe you won't believe me when I say that it does actually clean your skin, but hopefully you'll believe the doctors interviewed for this article. Olive oil is a pure and cheap option that easily mixes with our abrasion ingredients. IT works with your body instead of in spite of your body as the chemically laced soaps and body washes you buy in stores do. The oil removes toxins, dirt, and other grossness from your skin while helping to replenish your skin's natural oils (which is GOOD for you).
The result: extraordinarily smooth skin in a clean and natural way. This works far better for keeping smooth moisturized skin than any lotion I have ever used. My husband looked at me like I was crazy when I first started using it, but then he felt how soft my was he was amazed. So don't just take my word for it, take his. (For the record he still thinks I'm a little crazy for all my natural beauty practices).
Now for how to make it. And boy is it simple. 1. Find yourself a jar, I like using glass ones like this:
It needs to be sealable in some manner to protect it from the water in your shower.
2. Put one part sugar in the jar (so half the amount of total body scrub volume you want in the jar). You need to put the sugar in first because the coffee grounds like to float on tops. If you put grounds and then sugar it is hard to tell when you've put equal parts of each in the jar.

3. Put one part coffee gounds in the jar. (Just in case it wasn't clear, these are dry and unused coffee grounds).

5. Seal up your jar and get ready to use. When in the shower apply liberally and scrub like you're lathering soap.
Enjoy!
