Spring is here!

That means it's time for plants right?

This year I'm trying my hand at having a green thumb with a new concept. My Modern Victory Garden. I invite you to come along with me on a journey to grow some really helpful plants and herbs. These plants are all plants which I use in my homemade beauty and cleaning products, some medicinal teas, andthe occasional food seasoning. Pick and choose the ones you want to grow and add your own!

Here's my plant nursery!

I'm using starter soil and starter planters that you can get in any store's garden section. (And one giant hanging planter because I needed something big enough for the garden bulbs).

You may have noticed it is really bright. That's because I'm using a "grow light" bulb. They're about $5 at Lowes. In an attempt to save money I bought a lamp at The Christmas Tree Shops which was on sale for $2.99. I removed the shade and am using it as my grow light so that I can grow my plants indoors.

Currently I am growing:

3 garlic bulbs

1 pot green onion

1 pot parsley

1 pot mint

1 pot rosemary

1 pot dill

1 pot of lemon tree seeds

2 pots true lavendar

3 pots chamomile

3 pots echinacea

I do not claim to be an expert in gardening. I read the directions on each seed pouch. I watered them and gave them light. Now I wait to see what happens. Check in on this blog feed to find out.

To really get you your curiosity going my aim is to turn my front room into a tranquil hanging tea garden. My inspiration is the photo below:
